About the lawyer

I signed on behalf of the public administration for four years. I know how a tender is written, how a notice is decided and what the oversight bodies look for. That is the position from which I read every client's case.

The practice takes on a limited number of matters at a time. Each one is handled personally from start to finish, with no intermediate layers between the client and the lawyer in charge. Public law technique is combined with the political and regulatory reading that today's problems require, especially in defense, infrastructure and foreign investment.

Frequently asked questions about hiring a lawyer in Brazil

What is the difference between the introductory call and the technical consultation?

The introductory call is a screening: it checks whether your matter fits this practice and aligns expectations. The technical consultation is the actual work, with prior review of your material, a grounded answer to your question and a map of the possible routes.

Do you speak English? Can the whole process be handled in English?

Yes. Consultations are held in English or Portuguese, and documents may be sent in either language. Some official procedures in Brazil require a sworn translation, which is explained during the consultation.

How do I pay a lawyer in Brazil from abroad?

The fee is shown at booking. International clients pay in euros, by bank transfer to a European account or by card. The consultation is confirmed once payment is received.

Does the consultation include drafting documents?

No. The consultation is the 60-minute meeting with verbal advice. Written memoranda, filings, administrative applications and case follow-up are retained separately, with a proposal sent after the consultation.

Can you handle my Brazilian residence permit or naturalization from start to finish?

Yes, when it makes sense for the case. Many situations are resolved with the consultation and a good checklist. When the application requires more complex preparation or carries a risk of refusal, a proposal is made to conduct the procedure from start to finish.

How long does a residence permit, visa or naturalization take in Brazil?

It depends on the authority, the complexity and the stage at which the case arrives. There is no standard timeline and no promise of outcome. The commitment is to clarity about the scenarios and regular communication for as long as the work lasts.

How are fees for retained work set?

They reflect the nature of the matter, its complexity and the estimated time, and are presented in writing before any engagement.
